What is Supplier Diversity?
"Supplier diversity is a proactive business process that seeks to provide all suppliers equal access to purchasing opportunities. It promotes supplier participation reflective of the diverse business community and encourages economic development."

Northeast Utilities has a goal of doing business with a diverse group of suppliers who consistently provide exceptional products and services at competitive prices. That’s simply good business for NU. Minority- and women-owned businesses are the fastest growing businesses in this country, and we would like to include more minority- and women-owned businesses among our list of suppliers.

Our aim is to establish long-term relationships with suppliers who provide products and services which help NU thrive in a highly competitive environment.

For our diverse suppliers, working with NU will mean expanding business opportunities through better visibility, shared goals, and a chance to prove the value of their products and services.

By forming close alliances with diverse suppliers, we support their growth - and our expanded business relationships today will impact our business development tomorrow. Procuring goods and services through minority- and women-owned businesses just makes good business sense.
