About Purchasing

Welcome to the Northeast Utilities' (NU's) Purchasing Department. It is our hope that the information provided here is valuable for both existing business partners as well as prospective suppliers.

NU’s Purchasing Department is responsible for acquiring all material, equipment and services to support all of NU's subsidiaries. This includes a wide variety of goods for the power generation and energy delivery businesses, as well as supplies for our overall operation. Our goal is to provide our internal customers with the right products and services, at the right time, and at the best value. We accomplish this by establishing strategic relationships with suppliers who value quality, a respect for safety and the environment, and by focusing on modern supply chain management techniques, emphasizing technology and value-added processes. Additionally, we have an active supplier diversity program and are eager to explore opportunities for minority- and women-owned businesses.
