Environmental Management System

NU's Environmental Management System is a key operational component of the company. It is our set of processes and practices that allow us to identify and address environmental impacts resulting from our services and operations.

This helps us to anticipate and meet growing environmental performance expectations, mitigate risks, introduce new efficiencies, and enhance our compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.

Our process-driven protocol is based on the ISO 14001 standard and begins with the identification of the environmental impacts of the activities conducted at NU facilities. These may include air emissions, water discharges, and our company's use of natural resources. Once identified, greater influence is sought over these impacts through the use of operational controls and target goals. The ISO 14001 Standard, developed and managed by the "International Organization for Standardization," provides a framework for establishing and maintaining a company-wide environmental management system.
