Environmental Outreach: Energy Efficiency

Promoting Energy Efficiency

Northeast Utilities is a strong proponent of energy conservation and efficiency as a means to reduce stresses on energy infrastructure and natural resources while providing savings to its customers.

NU offers a broad portfolio of energy efficiency services to its customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. It has been recognized as a leader in energy efficiency programs since its Conservation and Load Management programs were first introduced in the 1980s.

The results of these programs can be seen in reductions in peak demand for energy. In times of peak demand, recent conservation and energy efficiency has eliminated the need for an amount of power equivalent to that produced by a power plant.
