Internship Programs
Overview

The Internship program at Northeast Utilities offers students the opportunity to learn about the utility business while gaining hands-on experience in a real work environment. As valued members of NU’s team, interns are revered for their fresh outlook, unique problem solving skills, and energetic contributions. Every intern is exposed to a variety of projects and tasks to foster career development, personal achievement and success at NU. Positions are available in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Program Components
  • Work assignments for students interested in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Law, Communications, and Information Technology.
  • Social opportunities to meet other interns, including summer gatherings and training activities.
  • Opportunities to network with full-time employees and senior management.

Training and Development

Interns at NU will receive challenging, meaningful work that allow them to apply their academic coursework to the real work environment. To provide knowledge and guidance, all of our interns are assigned a mentor—an experienced employee who can offer coaching, feedback, and other valuable business insight.

Intern Requirements
  • Related major to applicable internship
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities is preferred
  • Work availability throughout the summer months (approximately 10 to 12 weeks)
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
